Doorbell-cam raccoon heist

Night-vision doorbell camera footage: a raccoon tiptoes onto the porch, lifts a whole pizza box, freezes, looks straight into the camera, then runs off with it. Grainy black-and-white, fisheye lens, timestamp overlay, no camera movement.

Why it works: Naming the camera type (doorbell, fisheye, night vision, timestamp) does most of the work: the model copies the look of real footage.

Viral & funny

Grandma lands a kickflip

Phone video at a sunny skatepark: a grandmother in a cardigan and pearls rolls in on a skateboard, pops a clean kickflip, lands it and calmly adjusts her glasses while friends cheer off-camera. Handheld, slight shake, natural daylight.

Why it works: Short, physical actions with a clear payoff read best in 5 to 8 seconds.

Viral & funny

Office chair race

Two coworkers in suits race office chairs down a long carpeted hallway, papers flying, one spins out into a potted plant. Low tracking shot following them, fluorescent office light, comedic timing.

Why it works: A tracking shot keeps both subjects in frame; ask for one clear 'fail' moment.

Viral & funny

Tiny chef in a real kitchen

Macro shot of a thumb-sized chef in a white hat stirring a pot made from a bottle cap on a real kitchen counter, steam rising, warm morning light, shallow depth of field.

Why it works: Scale contrast (tiny subject, real-world props) plus 'macro' makes miniature scenes convincing.

AI Video · Kling 3.0 Pro · 9:16

Pets & animals

Your dog does the trend

My dog performs the dance from the reference clip, same moves and timing, standing on its hind legs in a bright living room, phone-camera look.

Why it works: Use a full-body photo of your pet and a clip with one dancer; Kling Motion Control copies the moves onto the animal.

Motion Control · Kling 3.0 Pro Motion Control · 9:16

Pets & animals

Cat bakes a cake

A ginger cat in a tiny apron stands on a kitchen counter cracking an egg into a bowl with its paw, flour everywhere, cozy kitchen, handheld phone video, playful.

Why it works: Give the animal one human task and a messy result; keep the camera handheld for a home-video feel.

Funny AI Animals · Google Veo 3.1 Fast · 9:16

Pets & animals

Golden retriever surfing

A golden retriever rides a surfboard on a glassy wave at sunset, ears flapping, slow-motion spray, drone shot slowly descending toward the dog.

Why it works: Slow motion plus a drone move turns a simple idea into a cinematic one.

AI Video · Google Veo 3.1 · 16:9

Pets & animals

Owl's slow head turn

Close-up of a snowy owl on a fence post that slowly turns its head 180 degrees to stare at the camera, blinks once, deadpan. Overcast winter light, locked-off camera.

Why it works: One slow, exaggerated action and a locked-off camera make a perfect reaction clip.

Funny AI Animals · Kling 2.6 Pro · 9:16

Cinematic

Detectives in the rain

Two detectives argue under a flickering neon sign in a rain-soaked alley at night, steam rising from a grate, slow push-in from wide to medium shot, moody teal and magenta light, film grain.

Why it works: Describe light sources (neon, steam, wet reflections) and one camera move; that's what makes a shot feel filmed.

Cinematic Scene · OpenAI Sora 2 · 16:9

Cinematic

Sunset jet flyby

Two fighter jets bank over a desert canyon at golden hour, sun flare across the lens, camera tracking alongside then dropping behind them, epic scale, realistic motion blur.

Why it works: Tell the camera what to do over time ('tracking alongside, then dropping behind') for a dynamic shot.

Cinematic Scene · Google Veo 3.1 · 16:9

Cinematic

Lighthouse in a storm

Huge waves crash against a lone lighthouse during a night storm, the beam sweeping through heavy rain, lightning in the distance, slow crane up from the rocks to the lamp.

Why it works: Weather plus a single light source gives strong contrast and motion.

Cinematic Scene · Seedance 2.5 · 16:9

Cinematic

Astronaut finds a garden

An astronaut walks into a glowing greenhouse on Mars, removes a glove and touches a blooming flower, condensation on the visor, slow dolly forward, soft volumetric light.

Why it works: A small emotional gesture inside a big setting makes a memorable shot.

Skincare hero shot

A glass serum bottle on wet black stone, water droplets on the glass, slow 180-degree orbit, soft rim light, a single drop falls from the dropper in slow motion, premium studio look.

Why it works: Use your real product photo with image to video so the label stays accurate; describe surface, light and one hero moment.

Sneaker drop

A sneaker floats and rotates above a concrete floor as colored smoke bursts around it, quick push-in to the logo, punchy commercial lighting, high contrast.

Why it works: Ask for a push-in to the detail you want remembered (logo, sole, stitching).

Morning coffee pour

Slow-motion pour of coffee into a ceramic mug on a sunlit wooden table, steam curling, the bag of beans in soft focus behind, warm morning light, calm and cozy.

Why it works: Slow motion + steam + warm light is the classic recipe for food and drink ads.

Phone case drop test

A phone in a rugged case falls onto a tiled floor in slow motion, bounces, and the screen lights up undamaged, close-up, clean bright studio.

Why it works: Show the product doing its job in one clear action.

Skincare review

Selfie video of a young woman in her bathroom holding a skincare bottle up to the camera, smiling, she says: "I didn't expect this to work this fast." Natural window light, handheld phone camera.

Why it works: Put the spoken line in quotes so models with sound say it; keep it under 10 words for an 8-second clip.

Gadget unboxing

Creator unboxes a small gadget at a desk with LED strip lights behind, pulls it out, turns it on and grins at the camera, says: "Okay, this is actually cool." Handheld, casual.

Why it works: Casual details (LED strips, messy desk) make UGC feel real rather than produced.

Gym bag hook

Man in workout clothes films himself in a gym locker room, holds up a protein shaker, says: "Three things I pack every single day." Fluorescent light, phone camera, energetic.

Why it works: Open with a hook line that promises a list or a result; the first second decides if people keep watching.

Characters

Same character, new scene

My character walks through a busy night market, looks over her shoulder and smiles at the camera, warm lantern light, shallow depth of field, steady tracking shot.

Why it works: Upload a clear character sheet or front photo; keep the outfit description out of the prompt so it follows the image.

Character Animation · Kling 3.0 Pro · 9:16

Characters

Hero on a rooftop

My character stands on a rooftop at dusk, coat moving in the wind, turns toward the city skyline as the camera slowly circles around them, cinematic.

Why it works: An orbit move shows the character from several angles, which tests consistency well.

Character Animation · Kling 3.0 Pro · 16:9

Characters

Put yourself in the clip

Replace the person in the video with my character, keep the same moves, background and sound.

Why it works: Works best with one clearly visible person in the clip and a sharp, front-facing photo.

Nature & travel

Aurora over peaks

Time-lapse of green and purple aurora rippling over snowy mountain peaks, stars turning slowly, a small cabin with a lit window in the foreground.

Why it works: 'Time-lapse' tells the model to compress motion, which suits skies and clouds.

AI Video · Alibaba Wan 2.6 · 16:9

Nature & travel

Drone over turquoise coast

Aerial drone shot gliding over turquoise water and white cliffs at midday, a sailboat leaving a long wake, smooth forward motion.

Why it works: Travel shots look best with one smooth camera move and no people close to camera.

AI Video · Google Veo 3.1 Lite · 16:9

Nature & travel

Misty rainforest

Morning mist drifts through a dense rainforest, sunbeams cut through the canopy, a toucan lands on a branch, slow push-in, rich green tones.

Why it works: Add one living detail (a bird, a falling leaf) so the scene isn't static.

AI Video · MiniMax Hailuo 2.3 Pro · 9:16

Anime & stylized

Anime rooftop at dusk

Anime style: a high-school girl on a rooftop at dusk, wind blowing her hair and scarf, cherry petals drifting past, city lights turning on below, soft cel shading.

Why it works: Start with the style ('Anime style:') so every detail is drawn in it.

AI Video · Vidu Q3 · 16:9

Anime & stylized

Claymation dragon

Claymation style: a tiny green dragon hatches from an egg on a kitchen counter, stretches, sneezes a puff of smoke, stop-motion feel, warm light.

Why it works: Stop-motion and claymation hide small motion glitches, which makes them forgiving styles.

AI Video · Kling 2.6 Pro · 1:1

Anime & stylized

Turn a clip into anime

Restyle this clip as a 90s anime, keep the same motion and framing, bold outlines, flat colors.

Why it works: Short clips with clear motion restyle most cleanly.

Restyle Video · Kling O3 Pro · Video Reference · 9:16

Photo to video

Bring a portrait to life

The person in the photo blinks, smiles warmly and tilts their head slightly toward the camera, hair moving gently, subtle natural motion.

Why it works: For photos, describe only motion; the image already defines the look.

Image to Video · Kling 2.6 Pro · 9:16

Photo to video

Animate a landscape photo

Clouds drift across the sky, water ripples and reflects the light, a slow push-in toward the horizon, everything else stays still.

Why it works: Say what should stay still; it stops the model from warping buildings or faces.

Image to Video · Google Veo 3.1 Fast · 16:9

Photo to video

Product photo to ad

Slow orbit around the product, soft light sweeps across the surface, a few light particles float in the background, premium and clean.

Why it works: Upload a product photo on a plain background for the cleanest result.

Dialogue & sound

Podcast clip

Two hosts at a podcast table with microphones; the woman says: "Nobody tells you this about starting a business." The man laughs and leans in. Warm studio light, medium shot.

Why it works: Models with sound can speak quoted lines; one or two short lines per clip work best.

Interview · Google Veo 3.1 · 9:16

Dialogue & sound

Street interview

Street interview in a busy city: a reporter holds a microphone to a surprised man who answers: "Wait, this is AI?" Handheld, natural city noise, daylight.

Why it works: Ask for background noise ('city noise', 'crowd') so the audio feels real.

Dialogue & sound

Make a character sing

The character sings along to the uploaded track with natural mouth movement and small head motion, looking at the camera.

Why it works: Use a clear front-facing photo and a clean vocal track.

How to write your own

  1. Start with the subject and the one action that happens in the clip.
  2. Add the place, the time of day and the light.
  3. Pick one camera move: push-in, orbit, tracking, drone, or locked-off.
  4. Name a style if you want one (anime, claymation, film grain, phone video).
  5. For speech, put the exact words in quotes and keep them short.

Common questions

What makes a good AI video prompt?

Say who or what is in the shot, what happens over the few seconds of the clip, where it is, the light, and one camera move. Keep it to what the camera can see, and for spoken lines put the words in quotes.

Can I use these prompts on any AI video generator?

Yes, they're plain text. Each card also names a model on VidBoss AI that suits it, and 'Use this prompt' opens the studio with it filled in. You'll see the exact credit price before anything runs.

Should prompts be different for image to video?

Yes. When you start from a photo, the image already sets the look, so describe only the motion and what should stay still. The image-to-video prompts guide goes deeper on this.

How long should a prompt be?

One to three sentences is usually enough for a 5 to 10 second clip. Very long prompts often ask for more than fits in the clip, so the model drops parts of them.
